Star Wars AR Stickers: After announcing them back in the month October, Google is releasing its augmented reality stickers on the Google Pixel and Pixel 2 Smartphone this week. The stickers are lovely 3D creatures that show up within videos and photos captured by Google’s camera application using brand-new Augmented Reality technology to seem like they are really in the scene.
To make the whole matter a bit more pleasurable, Google is releasing the feature with two branded sticker units: Stranger Things and Star Wars. You will have the ability to pull up cartoon variations of the Stranger Things kids and the Demogorgon (with season 1 clothing – therefore most likely no punk Eleven), in addition to a handful of Star Wars creatures and characters, including R2-D2, BB-8, stormtroopers & porgs.
Google also offers a handful of its own creatures, including a coffee mug, a donut, and a weightlifting stalk of broccoli. Early video clips using the feature recommend the stickers work surprisingly well.
These AR stickers are special to Google Pixel phones for the moment. In addition they require that mobile phones are up to date to Google android 8.1 – rather than all phones have obtained the upgrade yet. For all those that have managed to get to Android 8.1, Google affirms the feature should show up within the camera application over the “coming days.” In addition, it plans to release extra sticker packs later on.
