Know about Snapchat: In the recent times, it has become so famous, and it’s maker Snap who has known to make an app which sends messages which disappear after 24 hours. But if we see it’s past few years, you will see that it has come a long way from being just a modern day camera company.
In the recent news, it has come to light that Snap has been working in the direction of building a drone. This is according to three people, who had been briefed but were asked to stay anonymous because the details were confidential. But if sources are right, then this drone could be used to take photos and videos from up and then feed the data to the company’s headquarters.
We still do not know whether the drone they will be building, will be accessible to us or not. Like many other companies, Snap also keeps planning and doing things but sometimes they are killed as well. A few days, when asked a Snap spokeswoman declined to comment on the topic.
The work that Snap has been doing on the drone, is it’s unveiling in last year’s Spectacle. Sunglasses that could record short video clips. The company’s official name was Snap, but they later changed it to Snapchat showing that it wanted to branch out into myriad products.
This drone also tells us what Snapchat might be planning to do in the near future. This could in turn heavily affect the company’s growth. How the company will plan on acquiring investors will be known shortly. Snapchat will hit the New York Stock Exchange on Thursday, and it will be the biggest I.P.O since the company Alibaba.
From what we know, Snapchat will sit $14 to $14 for each share. This will value the company as much as $22.2 billion in total.
If we think about the reason, it is quite simple. It is essential for a company like Snapchat to get more visual data to see the people’s expressions and interact with them. Communicating through Snapchat is mostly a visual process, with sometimes writing something. This creates a highly intense engagement between the users. Snap said in a recent interview, that people have opened their app 18 times a day on an average and also that 2.5 billion messages and images were sent in one day.
Snapchat’s chief executive, Evan Spiegel has made it sure that their company’s targets revolve with everything dependent on cameras. In a short video some time back, he said that cameras showed the world how people communicated, and hence people have it live rather than a person’s memory.
“We’re at the beginning of what cameras can do,” Evan told people.
When the gadget Spectacles arrived, the company faced a lot of questions from the critics as to why they entered the hardware product industry. The product was designed to make videos a fun and easy part to do, which deviates from the company’s original goal of users getting a stream of images and videos through their smartphones.
“We believe that reinventing the camera represents our greatest opportunity to improve the way that people live and communicate,” Snap addressed the public some days back. “Our products empower people to express themselves, live in the moment, learn about the world, and have fun together.”
